Albury Wodonga Snow Transfers

FAQs

How windy is the drive and what are the conditions?
The drive to Falls Creek, Mount Hotham and Mount Buller is quite straightforward when weather conditions are clear. The roads are all sealed and well maintained but they do twist and turn a lot due to the mountain ascent. If you are prone to motion sickness we suggest you speak to your doctor or pharmacist to discuss travel sickness medications. We can supply plastic bags in case of emergency.

Since Albury Wodonga Snow Transfers specialises in transfers to snow fields, sometimes the weather can be inclement, visibility poor or the roads icy. Whilst we always drive with snow chains in all our vehicles, we will prioritise your safety first. If conditions are poor, transfer times to the mountain may be slower or we may even have to delay your departure.

How long will it take to get there?
The length of time it takes to get from Albury Airport to the snowfields depends on which mountain you choose and the weather conditions at the time.
Approximate travel time to each resort is:
Albury Airport to Falls Creek – 1hr 45 mins
Albury Airport to Mount Hotham – 2hrs 20 mins
Albury Airport to Mount Buller – 2hrs 50 mins

Does Albury Wodonga Snow Transfers supply snow chains?
Albury Wodonga Snow Transfers always carries snow chains in all our vehicles as required by law in Victoria. Whether we put them on the vehicle tyres or not depends on mountain requirements on the day.

Does Albury Wodonga Snow Transfers have child car seats?
Child car seats and infant capsules as required by Victorian and NSW law for children under 7, booster seats are recommended for children 7-16 under 145cm in height. Please request at the time of booking. Child seats are fitted at NO EXTRA COST.

Do I have to pay resort entry?
Resort entry fees apply to all visitors going to Falls Creek, Mount Hotham and Mount Buller in the snow season. Every mountain has different systems to book your resort entry. For more details, please visit the website of the resort you are visiting.

Does Albury Wodonga Snow Transfers have space to carry all my snow gear and extra luggage?
If you are bringing ski or snowboarding gear with you as well as extra large luggage, Albury Wodonga Snow Transfers can accommodate this. Let us know in advance and (for an extra fee) we can bring our snow trailer to safely house all your boards, skis and bags.

I want to hire my snow gear. How do I do that?
Most of our customers do their ski hire on the mountain after they arrive. There are plenty of places to hire skis, snowboards and even snow clothing. The customer service information staff on the mountain can direct you to the closest retail outlet.

What are conditions like on the mountain? Should I be wearing all my snow gear in the car?
It is highly like to be very cold and (hopefully) snowing when you arrive. Albury Wodonga Snow Transfers suggests that you take your snow boots, snow jackets, gloves and hats in the back seat with you so that you will arrive suitably dressed for your snow holiday.
